About 3N Networks

Where critical infrastructure meets reliable connectivity.

3N Networks, in partnership with a large natural gas provider, is developing the 3N Dark Fiber Network, with Phase 1 launching in the target-rich Northern Virginia corridor from Ashburn to Atlanta, spanning approximately 540 miles. The network will ultimately extend roughly 1,500 miles from New York to Houston, connecting many of the most critical digital hubs across the East Coast and Gulf Region.

Built within an existing easement, this truly diverse backbone is ultra-reliable, low-impact to construct, and ideal for dark fiber deployment. Combined with our parter’s ability to deliver natural gas-powered energy directly to end users, the network offers a unique advantage: highly reliable fiber connectivity paired with clean, grid-independent power, enabling data centers, enterprises, CDNs, and government agencies to meet today’s mission-critical demands for scalability, security, and low-latency performance.

Proximity to Data Centers

Phase 1 strategically traverses Data Center Alley, placing more than 600 data centers within two miles of the 540 mile initial route.

Global Internet Traffic

Over 70% of global internet traffic goes through Northern Virginia.

About 3N Dark Fiber Network

The 3N Fiber Network is a next-generation long-haul dark fiber backbone developed by 3N Networks in partnership with a large gas company, leveraging an existing, maintained natural gas pipeline right-of-way (ROW). This corridor provides a physically protected, highly diverse, low-latency fiber path designed specifically for hyperscale, carrier, and data-center connectivity needs.
Most long-haul routes follow rail, highway, or aerial utility corridors that are congested, exposed, and vulnerable to common failure events. The 3N Dark Fiber Network is built inside a secured natural gas ROW, offering true physical diversity, straighter paths with minimal bends, 100% buried construction, and continuous corridor monitoring.

Route, Architecture & Performance

Phase I includes a 544-mile protected corridor through Northern Virginia’s Data Center Alley to Atlanta, with expansion planned along a 1,500-mile Williams Transco pipeline easement driven by customer demand.
The route is engineered for direct, straight-line construction with minimal bends, reducing optical loss and latency compared to traditional routes.

Reliability, Security & Resiliency

The fiber is deployed within an active, maintained Williams natural gas corridor with 24/7 monitoring, strict access controls, continuous inspection, and coordinated emergency response protocols.

Commercial Model

3N offers flexible commercial options including long-term IRUs, lease-based structures, scalable capacity blocks, and anchor customer positioning.

Pricing is not published publicly. Commercial terms are tailored based on route segment, capacity requirements, and term length.
